MO/IL state championship race
I spoke to the Track owner at Callaway Speedway in Fulton MO about hosting a MO/IL state championship race. She is very interested about doing the race. We talked a little about $$ that it would take and she thought that it was reasonable. Looks like there is a date open for both groups on July 10. I have an email in to both Bob / MOLS and Roger at ISMA to see if I can get both parties interested. I practiced at Callaway http://www.callawayraceways.com/ yesterday and thought the track size and banking was prefect for our cars. Track is a big, wide 1/4 mile with progressive banking. Fulton is 2hr from Grain Valley and 1:52 hrs from St. Louis. I will keep everyone posted. I am going to follow up with the track owner later this week. Does any one have any thoughts? What about doing some traveling while gas is cheap!
P.S. The only other open wheel car that was there was a 360 and the track was so slick I could run with him. I had several people that came by my pits and told me they would like to see our group run a race there this season. I also spoke to another owner and he was in favor of us running there.

Re: MO/IL state championship race
Good news, I spoke to the owner tonight and I do have a verbal agreement about money and wanting to go forward with this race. I will draw up an agreement with the track so there are no misunderstandings then sit down with them to ink the deal. If I can get the commitment from the racers. It looks like this race should pay $500 to win. There are more details that will have to be worked out before you can put this race solidly on your schedules. By the end of next week I should know if you can count on it.

Re: MO/IL state championship race
Hello Racers
Mark Billings here, AKA Jack93. I am trying to put together a MO/IL state championship race at Callaway Speedway in Fulton MO. Fulton is 2hr from Grain Valley and a little less from St. Louis. (1hr45min) I practice there last weekend and thought the track would be a prefect location for such a race. Here is there web site for the track. http://www.callawayraceways.com/ The track is a big wide ΒΌ mile. It is only about 6-8 years old with good accommodations. I had the same gear on that I ran at Nevada MO track and seem to be really close. I have a verbal agreement with the track to hold this race on July 10th 2009. This race is a Friday night. They only run on Friday nights at this speedway. This would be a non points race for MOLS and IMSA. It would strictly be east meets west championship race. We would use MOLS rules. This would be a winged event. The price I have negotiated with the track would allow 1st place to win $500 if we can get 20 cars. If we can get more it would pay more. It would not be loaded top heavy so others would also win good price money. I have not worked out the payback yet but it would be fair for all. Here is the down side. OMMS has a race schedule for Grain Valley the same night. But July 10 is about the only date that does not conflict with MOLS / IMSA and MMSA schedule. We are all off that weekend.
I need to know who would like to participate in this race before I draw up a contract and have the track sign it. If there is no or very little interest I don’t want to waste there time to have 5-10 car show up. I know when I spoke to Roger he said that there were at least 6 cars in St. Louis. I would think it would be a no brainier for those guys to make the trip. Plus several that run his series on a reg. basis. So if I can get 12 guys from MOLS series to commit we have 20 cars really easy. Maybe we can get a few over from MMSA and before you know it we mite have more than 20. Click on my web site for updates http://jack93racing.net/ I will also post updates on my forum at https://minisprint.1forum.biz/index.htm But either way I would like to hear from you. Would you also forward this email to anyone you think would be interested in race it.
Thanks, Mark

Re: MO/IL state championship race
Do to the lack of interest show from the response to the emails I sent out I feel this event is not wroth the time and effort I would have to put in it. I called the track owner and cancelled the event. If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.
